If it is to the bank I am sure that they will transfer it to american dollars for you and if they send it to you then they will charge a transfer fee but your bank will take good care of you. We have family that like to send Euros and we have no problems with them.there should be several in every city. Do your own homework, so you can get the best rate possible. If you intend to then transfer the amount, some of this foreign exchange company also do money transfer order either to a bank account or to their branches which can be encash by the recepient.
